Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive treatment designed to safely and effectively reduce unwanted hair while improving overall skin smoothness. At KB Aesthetics, we use the advanced LightSheer® Duet system, a clinically proven diode laser technology known for its speed, comfort, and effectiveness for a wide range of skin types and skin tones. Using customized wavelengths of light, this treatment targets hair follicles while preserving the surrounding skin. With LightSheer® Duet’s in-motion delivery system, large treatment areas can be treated efficiently, allowing full-body sessions to be completed in as little as 30 minutes with minimal to no discomfort and no downtime. Laser hair removal offers a long-term solution for smoother, softer skin with efficient, in-office treatments.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
Post-Care Instructions
Prior to your laser hair removal appointment, the treatment area must be shaved either the night before or the morning of your visit. Please note that shaving is not performed in the office. In some cases, facial treatment areas may not require shaving; however, please contact the office in advance to confirm. Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or using depilatory creams for several weeks prior to treatment, as the hair follicle must be intact. Sun exposure, tanning, and self-tanners should be avoided before treatment. Please arrive with clean skin and no lotions, deodorant, or makeup on the treatment area, and inform us of any medical conditions or medications. For female patients, we do not treat the upper back or upper arms, as these areas can be hormonally sensitive.
Laser hair removal is generally very well tolerated and does not hurt. Following treatment, mild redness, swelling, warmth, or itching in the treated area is common and typically resolves within a few hours to a few days. Avoid scratching or itching the treated area. If itching occurs, a thin layer of 1% hydrocortisone anti-itch cream may be applied as needed. Avoid sun exposure, excessive heat, and strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after treatment. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided for several weeks following treatment, and sunscreen should be used consistently on exposed areas. Do not wax or pluck hairs between sessions; shaving is permitted as needed. Hair shedding will occur gradually over the following weeks. For optimal results, a series of 7–9 treatments is usually recommended, spaced 6–8 weeks apart, with shorter intervals often recommended for facial areas.
